Winter Solstice Festival: Glutinous Rice Balls vs Dumplings

Step 1
【Dumplings】

Step 2
Chop the Chinese cabbage and add salt to drain water. Set aside. Prepare the filling: Mix together the pork, Chinese cabbage, ginger, sesame oil, light soy sauce, carrot, green onion and salt.

Step 3
Place some filling in the middle of dumpling wrappers. Wrap into dumplings and set aside.

Step 4
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add dumplings and cook on medium low heat until dumplings floated. Ready to serve.

【Glutinous Rice Balls】

Step 6
Mix together the black sesame powder, sugar and butter. Knead and roll into balls about 10g each.

Step 7
Mix together the glutinous rice flour and warm water. Knead and roll into balls about 15g each. Flatten, place sesame balls in the middle and roll into balls again.

Step 8
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add glutinous rice balls and cook for 5 minutes. Ready to serve.
