Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Prepare the Meat: Put minced meat into rings at least 1 inch high (or to desired thickness), use spoon to press into a concave, flip over and press into concave, do not handle or season the meat, cover and put meat into refrigerator for 15-30 minutes

Step 2
Prepare the Buns: Heat iron skillet, cut buns in half and apply this slice of salted butter, put buns onto hot iron skillet until light toasted or brown. Remove buns and set aside

Step 3
Prepare the Vegetables: Wash and dry lettuce, remove large leaf and trim to size of buns, place on bottom half of burger, wash and thin slice tomato, place on top of lettuce, slice onion into large ring, cook on iron skillet until moderately caramelised and set aside (Sauté other vegetables like mushrooms if desired)

Step 4
Prepare the Cheese: Put Velveeta into saucepan and melt and put on low heat

Step 5
Cooking the Meat: Turn on skillet to high, Add canola oil, put patty and ring on skillet and remove ring

Step 6
Cooking the Meat Option 1 – For Juicy burger – Let it sear on skillet of 30 seconds, flip burger patty once and allow to cook through, add salt

Step 7
Cooking the Meat Option 2 – For Smash burger – Use food turner to press down on burger releasing juices, firmly hold for 30 seconds in this position, flip burger once and allow it to cook through, then add salt

Step 8
Assembling the burger, put tomato, Put the cooked patty on the washed lettuce and tomato on the bottom half of the bun, Add onion & other toppings on top of the patty, Add Velveeta cheese, Add ketchup and mayo as desired, Add top half of bun
