Steamed Meatball with Glutinous Rice

The meatballs are soft and a bit chewy. Dried shrimp and mushrooms get the dishes a rich flavor. Their size is just fit for a bite.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Rinse and soak the glutinous rice for at least 3-4 hours.

Step 2
Soak the dried shrimp, dried mushroom until soft and finely chop.

Step 3
Mince the garlic and finely chop the water chestnut.

Step 4
In a bowl, add the ground pork, water chestnut, garlic, dried shrimp, mushrooms, Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil and white pepper.

Step 5
Use the chopstick and stir it in one direction for 8-10 minutes or until the mixture is sticky.

Step 6
Place the lotus leaf on the bamboo steamer.Form the pork mixture into a ball.

Step 7
Roll it over the glutinous rice.Place the rice ball on the lotus leaf.

Step 8
Steam it for 20 minutes or until the glutinous rice is fully cooked.

Step 9
Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and ready to serve.
