Stuffed Red Dates with Lotus Seeds

Step 1
Soak the red dates in water until soft, about 20 minutes. Drain dry, cut in half and remove the pit.

Step 2
In a bowl, combine glutinous flour, water, and lotus seeds (keep 1 tablespoon of crushed lotus seeds for decoration later).

Step 3
Knead into a soft dough. The dough should not be too sticky nor too dry.

Step 4
Roll the dough into a log.

Step 5
Divide into equal portions

Step 6
stuff inside the prepared red dates. Top with some crushed lotus seeds.

Step 7
Steam over water on high heat for 10 minutes.

Step 8
Top each piece of stuffed red dates with osmanthus flower syrup.
