Shrimp and Pork Paste in Hairy Gourd Ring

Stuff the hairy gourd rings with shrimp paste, minced pork and dried mushrooms! A very homey dish yet presentable for your friends and family.

Step 1
Peel and cut the hairy gourds into sections. Remove the centre. Soak and dice the dried mushrooms. Set aside.

Step 2
Mix together minced pork, shrimp paste, dried mushrooms, salt, sesame oil, ground white pepper and 1/2 tbsp corn starch.

Step 3
Sprinkle some corn starch in the centers of hairy gourds. Stuff with the fillings.

Step 4
Bring the chicken broth to boil. Layer the hairy gourds in it. Cover the lid and cook for 5-8 minutes or until cooked. Transfer to a plate.

Step 5
Add corn starch to thicken the broth and make sauce. Pour over the stuffed hairy gourds and ready to serve.
