Radix and polygonati officinalis is a common ingredient for soup and often goes together. Radix can nourish the stomach, polygonati officinalis can gives moisture, plus adding the fungus, which is very suitable for the dry fall weather.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Soak the radix, polygonati officinalis and white fungus for 10 minutes. Remove the core of the white fungus. Cut the pork shanks into pieces. Peel and slice the ginger.

Step 2
Bring a pot of water to boil and blanch the pork shank. Drain and set aside.

Step 3
In a pot, add the radix, polygonati officinalis, ginger and enough water. Bring it to boil over high heat.

Step 4
Add the pork shank and reduce the heat to low, cover the lid and cook it for 90 minutes.

Step 5
Add the white fungus, honey dates and cook for another 30 minutes.

Step 6
Season with salt and ready to serve.
