Step 1
Peel and slice the ginger and garlic

Step 2
Cut the chicken thigh meat into bite size

Cut the leeks into section and save the white part

Step 4
Place the skewer in water to soak for 30 minutes. Alternately skewer the chicken and leeks

Transfer to the baking tray

Step 6
In a pot, combine the sauce ingredients and bring it to boil. Reduce the heat to medium

Cook until the liquid is reduced by half. Pour it through the strainer and set aside

Preheat the oven to 170°C, place the chicken skewer on the rack and cook for about 6 minutes

Brush the chicken with the yakitori sauce and cook for another 2 minutes

Turn the chicken and brush the sauce again and let it cook for 2 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked
