Spiced Buttermilk Scone

Use homemade buttermilk and fresh herbs to make a tasty scone, which gives a different style for your breakfast. It can also serve with any kind of jam or ham!

Homemade Buttermilk
Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Homemade Buttermilk:Prepare some container. Mix the milk,lemon juice and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Set aside.

Step 2
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Lay a parchment paper on a baking tray and set aside.

Step 3
Cut the chilled butter into small dice. Chop the parsley and dill. Remove the thyme leaves and set aside.

Step 4
Mix together 250g all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt,and sugarand set aside.

Step 5
Place the chilled butter and the flour mixture in the blender and blend until crumble.

Step 6
In a bowl, mix the butter flour crumble and 350g all-purpose flour, add the homemade buttermilk and herbs mixture. Gently knead into dough.

Step 7
Sprinkle some flour on the surface area. Place the dough and roll into 2.5cm thick.

Step 8
Make the dough into a 5” round shape with 2.5cm thick. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.

Step 9
Place the dough on the baking tray and brush with egg yolk. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Step 10
Bake it for 10 minutes until golden brownand ready to serve.
