Roasted Orange Garlic Chicken

Raw garlic has a pungent smell, however when roasted it is aromatic. Aroma of garlic along with the fragrance of the orange mixed with the scent of the chicken oil, it is irresistible.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 170°C.Clean and pat dry the chicken.Separate the garlic clove but do not peel.

Step 2
Place the chicken on the baking tray, rub half the butter over the chicken and season with salt and black pepper.

Step 3
Place the garlic clove under and around the chicken.

Step 4
Squeeze the orange juice and half of the water in the pan.

Step 5
Bake the chicken for 30 minutes.

Step 6
Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the chicken with the juice and bake for another 30 minutes.

Step 7
Spread the remaining butter over the chicken and add the rest of the water.

Step 8
Bake for another 30 minutes until the chicken skin is crispy and fully cooked inside.

Step 9
Remove the chicken and let rest for 20 minutes. Save the juice.

Step 10
Remove the garlic peel and place the clove in the pot on a medium heat.

Step 11
Sprinkle with all-purpose flour and mix well. Add the chicken juice and whisk until the gravy is smooth with no lumps.

Step 12
Serve the chicken with the gravy.
